Ballinger Selected New Albany Intermediate School Principal

Megan BallingerCongratulations to Megan Ballinger, current assistant principal at New Albany Intermediate School, Superintendent Sawyers announced Monday, May 9 that she was selected to succeed Principal Katie Nowak as she transitions to be the Director of Assessment and Accountability for the district.

I am pleased to inform you that Mrs. Megan Ballinger, currently Assistant Principal of New Albany Intermediate School, will assume a new NAPLS leadership role beginning with the 2022-23 school year as the Principal of New Albany Intermediate School.

Mrs. Ballinger will replace Mrs. Katie Nowak, who was recently promoted to the New Albany-Plain Local Schools Director of Assessment and Accountability.

Mrs. Ballinger joined the New Albany-Plain Local School District in 2018 in the role of Intermediate School Assistant Principal.

Prior to her tenure in New Albany, Mrs. Ballinger served in administrative roles at the middle and high school levels in the Columbus City School District, including the role of interim middle school principal.  As a teacher, Mrs. Ballinger taught English Language Arts, served as an instructional coach, and was a presenter at multiple National Council of Teachers of English conferences.

Mrs. Ballinger received her Bachelor of Arts degree from Ohio Wesleyan University and her Master of Arts degree in Educational Administration from The Ohio State University. Mrs. Ballinger and her husband, Andrew, have one son, Henry.
