Thomas Snyder Selected As New Albany Intermediate Assistant Principal
New Albany - Plain Local Schools welcomes Tommy Snyder as the New Albany Intermediate School Assistant Principal. Mr. Snyder will officially join the district on August 1, 2020 with additional summer work days to facilitate his transition to the role of assistant principal at New Albany Intermediate School. Mr. Snyder will replace Mr. Patrick Garrity who is leaving the school district to become an elementary principal in Worthington.
Mr. Snyder brings a wide range of experience to the Assistant Principal position through his work at Hilliard City Schools. He has most recently focused on leading the R Factor initiative with students and staff, building positive school culture, and served as a Response To Intervention (RTI) Coach to support students’ academic and social emotional wellbeing. As a classroom teacher, Mr. Snyder taught Social Studies and Language Arts in Grades 5, 6 and 7. He currently serves as a building level leader as the Student Support liaison at Hilliard Tharp Sixth Grade Building.
Intermediate School Principal Katie Nowak shared, “Mr. Snyder’s student-centered approach, passion for teaching and learning, strong relationship skills, and knowledge of the R Factor will be an asset to our school community in supporting students, staff, and families.”
Mr. Snyder received his Bachelor of Arts degree from Muskingum University and his Master’s degree in Educational Leadership from High Point University. Mr. Snyder resides in the Grove City area with his wife, Grace, and his son, Nate.
