COSI Science Fest & the Science of New Albany Schools

Be a Scientist: Join New Albany-Plain Local Schools Faculty, Staff and Students for an afternoon of rotational learning at the Easton E3: Energy, Engineering & Environment - Solar House & Learning Lab. Participate in a number of hands-on, inquiry-based activities, initiatives, programs and experiments.

Science of Sports - soccer ball kick. See how radar works and how fast you can kick the ball into the net! NA Police department will support this station. 

Easi-Scopes - Use handheld microscopes in the field to explore the micro-world of the wetlands. Or grab a net to try to catch frogs and other organisms. These Easi-scopes can be used by kids as young as first grade. Participants should come with their boots on! Mr. Chad Schwinnen's New Albany High School environmental science students will be helping with this activity.

Franklin County Soil and Water - their Augmented Reality 3D Sandbox will be available so students can create mountains and lakes watch their landscape have topo lines appear and water fill their lakes. Mrs. Claire Monk's New Albany High School geology students will help run this station.

Form5 Prosthetics - Aaron Westbrook will be demonstrating the science of 3D printing and its use for prosthetics.

Bring the Farm to You - Animals from the farm will be here! Learn how farms contribute to our food sources and help us create a sustainable future.

RoboThink STEM - Come build a robot! RoboThink kits will be available so you can explore Robotics, Engineering and Coding programs. New Albany Middle School teacher Andy Moore will help run this station.
