We are very excited to welcome you and your student to New Albany Middle School! Scheduling for next year is right around the corner and we wanted to share information about the scheduling process. Next week, we will be meeting with 6th graders during their elective period on Wednesday, January 23rd and Friday, January 25th to explain course selection. Wednesday, students will submit their courses online via a Google form that will be emailed to them that morning. Students will also be able to submit questions to us via a Google form and we will meet again on Friday to answer those questions.
Students core academic classes will be based off of their current placement and they will continue in the appropriate progression of course placement. Course acceleration is not a part of the scheduling process. If you wish to request acceleration for your child, you need to complete the district form on the district website. Students will also select elective classes at this time, by ranking their first 6 choices.
Evening meetings for parents will be held on Monday, February 4th and Wednesday, February 6th at 6:30pm in the middle school cafeteria. At this time, parents will be able to pick up their child’s scheduling verification form. Any changes to course selection will be made on this form, and a copy with your signature needs to be submitted to the middle school office by Friday, February 15th. A digital verification form will also be sent for families unable to attend one of our evening sessions.
Linda Rossman and Leslie Wilson will hold short, 15 minute meetings during the middle school parent/teacher conference night on Tuesday, February 12th to meet with families to answer any questions they may have regarding course selection for the 2019-2020 school year;please click here to sign up.
