Call 1-800-RUNAWAY if you are a teenager who is thinking of running from home, if you have a friend who has run and is looking for help, or if you are a runaway ready to go home. The 24-hour crisis line has an experienced front-line team member ready to help you now. Huckleberry House offers continuous 24-hour crisis services and emergency shelter to high-need youth between the ages of 11 and 17.

The Center for Family Safety and Healing fully addresses all aspects of family violence, including child abuse and neglect, teen dating abuse, domestic violence and elder abuse.

Physical Health & Support Resources

Teen Pregnancy Clinic:  614-526-3285

CNHC provides a wide range of services to teens and adults including pregnancy testing, obstetric / gynecology care, contraception, well woman exams and treatment of pelvic pain. Uninsured patients may pay for services based on a sliding scale. They accept most health insurances as well, including Medicaid.

Pregnancy Care Connection:  614-227-9866

Pregnant women living in Franklin County can call this hotline to schedule their initial pregnancy visit. The hotline is for women who are uninsured, women who have government health insurance (Medicaid, Caresource, Molina, Healthy Start) or women who are insured but have limited resources. By calling this number, pregnant women are able to see a doctor sooner.

Founded in 1998 by the creators of the Academy Award®-winning short film TREVOR, The Trevor Project is the leading national organization providing crisis intervention and suicide prevention services to lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender and questioning (LGBTQ) young people ages 13-24. Trans Lifeline for Transgender People: 877-565-8860  

Trans Lifeline is a 501(c)3 non-profit dedicated to the well being of transgender people. We run a hotline staffed by transgender people for transgender people. Trans Lifeline volunteers are ready to respond to whatever support needs members of our community might have.

The Sexual Assault Response Network of Central Ohio (SARNCO) is the sexual violence intervention and prevention program serving Franklin County. SARNCO strives to empower survivors and co-survivors of sexual and relationship violence and in time, to eliminate these forms of abuse through culturally appropriate prevention programming. SARNCO Programs and Services include:

  • 24-Hour Emergency Room Advocacy: Trained volunteer advocates provide emotional support, crisis intervention and resource information 24 hours a day, 7 days a week to survivors of sexual violence who are receiving care in local emergency departments.
  • 24-Hour Rape Helpline: Trained volunteer advocates provide emotional support, crisis intervention and resource information over the telephone 24 hours a day, 7 days a week to survivors of sexual violence, co-survivors and the community.
  • Recovery Resources: Recovery books and booklets geared toward healing from sexual violence are available at no cost to survivors and co-survivors of sexual assault. Free recovery materials can be accessed through the 24-Hour Rape Helpline at (614) 267-7020.
  • Sexual Violence Prevention Program: SARNCO provides prevention education and outreach about sexual assault, dating violence and sexual harassment in the community.

Ohio AIDS Hotline:  1-800-332-AIDS

The Hotline offers an opportunity for callers to explore personal HIV, STD and Hepatitis risk behavior, ask questions and/or seek out resources, privately and anonymously.

Columbus Health Department Sexual Health Walk-In Clinic offering confidential diagnosis and treatment for Sexually Transmitted Infections.

National Eating Disorders:  1-800-931-2237

If you or someone you know is struggling with an eating disorder, the National Eating Disorders Association (NEDA) helpline volunteers will be there to offer support and guidance with compassion and understanding.

CHOICES is the primary direct service provider to central Ohio families experiencing domestic violence. They provide counseling, shelter, crisis intervention, education, and community and legal support and advocacy to central Ohio residents facing domestic violence.
