Student Well-Being
A student's well-being is more important
than their grades.
A group of community leaders working in collaboration with school officials came together to create a best-in-class well-being model focused on New Albany students.
The Vision - each student possesses a strong sense of well-being (well-being is defined as being healthy both mentally and physically).
The Mission - to empower a caring community with resources that help maximize the mental & physical well-being of each student.
We are consolidating all the District's current program components under one umbrella, identifying the enhancement areas and then filling those areas with programs and other resources that will drive our vision and mission and the desired outcomes we want to improve in the following areas:
SUICIDE PREVENTION
DRUG EDUCATION & PREVENTION
DEVELOPMENTAL EDUCATION
To maximize our vision and mission, we are building in processes, accountability and success measurements into our model. The work will be challenging, but our goal is to help each student navigate the inevitable challenges they will experience during this stage in their lives. We will ultimately provide them a solid well-being foundation they can build upon into adulthood!
