New Albany Plain Local Schools is hiring for Child Care Recreation Leader to help in our before and after school program. There are multiple positions available Monday-Friday.
Our Eagle’s Nest staff is dedicated to the safety, development, growth, and skill achievement of school-age children participating in our program. Staff members are responsible for planning, leading, and implementing programs and experiences that provide enrichment to children enrolled in our before/after-school childcare program in a team-oriented setting.
Minimum Qualifications:

High School Diploma or ability to obtain a work permit

Successfully pass state and federal background checks
-
Ability to obtain an annual Ohio Department of Education Monitor Permit
-
Demonstrate a positive attitude, a cooperative mindset and high level of energy
-
Exemplify compassion for and an inclusive approach with a diverse student population and coworkers
-
Adaptability and willingness to learn new technology tools and procedures as needed
-
Previous experience working with children in a before/after school setting is preferred, but not required
Required Responsibilities and Essential Functions:
-
Follow state, federal, and program policies & procedures for the physical, emotional health and safety of each student
-
Provide appropriate, active supervision and maintain ratio standards (18:1)
-
Develop and maintain a positive, professional relationship with children, coworkers, families, and the NAPLS community
-
Demonstrate understanding of current childcare practices and philosophy through training/experience
-
Implement and actively engage students in planned program activities
-
Set-up and clean-up of spaces
-
Maintain organization of classroom supplies/equipment and general upkeep of storage areas
-
Regular and punctual attendance
-
Perform other assigned duties and accept direction from Coordinator(s)
Physical/Mental Requirements:
-
Demonstrate a full range of motion to lift, reach, squat, climb, sit, walk, or otherwise fully participate in all activities
-
Supervise and interact with children outdoors for extended periods of time in varied weather conditions
-
Respond immediately and appropriately to multiple or unexpected situations or emergencies
-
Possible exposure to blood and bodily fluids
-
Maintain mental and physical alertness and appropriate level of energy
-
Maintain emotional control under stress; works with frequent interruptions
Salary:
Wages starting at $15.00/hr. (+), based on experience

Required Work Days:
The Eagle’s Nest Program follows the New Albany-Plain Local School District Calendar + possible staff development days.
