Students working on computer

The district is committed to the improvement of a communications process that provides a mechanism for two-way dialogue with the community.  The District-wide Newswire provides information to parents, students, staff and the community, and building newsletters inform families of building-specific programming.

Keeping You Connected

We are dedicated to filling the website with increased up-to-date content, creating and posting information-rich reports, and relaying important information for district families and the community in a timely manner.  District social media platforms - Facebook and Instagram - add an additional layer and information source for people who want to stay continually engaged in different ways.  Our mass notification system through Blackboard ensures that families quickly receive critical safety notices and other important messages.

The district has also made every effort to improve the quality and consistency of district communications.  In addition, we now present financial information to the community with a yearly CAFR, or Comprehensive Annual Financial Report, which you can find at the District Reports and Publications page.

We are continuing to research the latest in technology and look forward to continually improving district communications and transparency.  Please feel free to ask any questions or provide any comments by e-mailing us at

Learning Community News

Peace Week

As you may recall, in January, after 9 months of work, we shared the results of a collaborative study illustrating active and future planned residential growth data provided by the City of New Albany and the New Albany Company.

Calendar Image

As a result of contract negotiations in our school district, the school calendars previously adopted for the 2024-2025 and 2025-2026 school year now require changes to incorporate teacher work days, the elimination of a school closure date for regional teacher professional development no longer offered, and a correction to a scheduled holiday.

Board of Education Meeting Recap - May 20

The Board of Education held a Regular Meeting on May 20 at the NAPLS Annex. Featured presentations included a celebration of our district retirees, proposed Hamilton Quarter Development, a first read of the District Five-Year Forecast and an update on the Facilities Planning Committee work.

NAPLS welcomes Dr. Robert Russell as the next New Albany High School principal effective August 1, 2024. Dr. Russell collaborates with and empowers staff through a teacher-based team structure focused on professional learning and action planning to increase student achievement.
