Ms. Jenkins has over 30 years of experience working in education, including the past three years at New Albany-Plain Local Schools. She began her career as the assistant treasurer for her Alma Mater, Martins Ferry City Schools then relocated to Northeast Ohio where she served as the Treasurer/CFO for the Wellsville Local School District.  Her love for the central Ohio area lead her to accept the assistant treasurer position at Olentangy Local Schools where she moved into the Treasurer/CFO role when her predecessor left the district. Ms. Jenkins has worked in districts of both high wealth and those that are economically challenged which gives her a unique perspective on the various issues diverse districts face.

She has served as a member of the Ohio Association of School Business Officials (OASBO) School Finance, Legislative and Annual Workshop Committees from 2005 to present and was named Ohio School Treasurer of the Year by the Foundation for School Business Management in 2010.  She also served as the state OASBO president in 2008-2009. Becky is also asked to speak on a variety of topics not only for OASBO seminars but other state organizations as well.

In the last three years at New Albany-Plain Local Schools, Ms. Jenkins has been awarded the “Ohio Auditor of State Award with Distinction” for excellence in financial reporting for the CAFR and receiving a clean audit as well as the GFOA Certificate of Achievement for Excellence in Financial Reporting. She recently received the Regional Distinguished Service Award by the Ohio Association of School Business Officials for her significant contribution to her profession.

Ms. Jenkins holds a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Business Administration, major in Accounting from Wheeling Jesuit College, Wheeling, West Virginia and an Associate of Science Degree, major in Accounting from Belmont Technical College in St. Clairsville, Ohio.  She is certified as a Licensed Ohio Public School Treasurer, Licensed Ohio Public School Business Manager and by the OASBO Leadership Academy.
