Degrees and Certifications:
I grew up in the Cleveland area with 3 older brothers in the city of Independence. My grandparents’ first language was not English so I had the opportunity to hear 3 different languages while growing up. Most of my childhood was spent playing basketball and baseball and going to the local swimming pool over the summers. In high school I played sports and sang in a traveling vocal ensemble and even had some leads in theater productions. I earned a Bachelor’s degree in Elementary Education from OSU, Master’s in Education Technology from University of Colorado, and a Masters in TESOL from OSU. Being the English Language Learner Coordinator, I am passionate about building bridges between parents, teachers and children of different cultures.
I love teaching and coaching, and have done both for many years. My wife is an elementary education teacher and we have 3 boys. Danny is and Ocular Disease Optometrist, Kevin is a High School Teacher and coach, and Johnny is studying Biomedical Sciences in hopes of becoming an ophthalmologist in the future. I love teaching in New Albany!
