Degrees and Certifications:
I graduated from Wittenberg University in 2013 with a Bachelor’s Degree in Early Childhood Education and Special Education, with a minor in Psychology. Since then I have continued my education by earning my Reading Endorsement from Heidelberg University, and continuing classes in areas such as Technology, Orton Gillingham, and Positive Behavior Systems.
This will be the beginning of my fifth year of teaching! I started my teaching career as an Elementary Intervention Specialist at a school for students specifically on the Autism Spectrum for two years, before transitioning over to New Albany. My first year at New Albany I was an Intervention Specialist at the High School level, then transitioned back to my roots as an Intervention Specialist at the elementary level this past year. I am so excited to continue my teaching at the New Albany Primary School, servicing grades 1st through 3rd in as a cross categorical Intervention Specialist!
When I am not teaching I am typically spending time with my friends and family, including my dog Oakley. I try to be crafty and creative whenever I get a chance, and like to pretend my skills rival those of people on HGTV :).
