Ms. Guthrie

¡Hola! My name is Meghan Guthrie. This will be my third year of teaching and my first at New Albany. I grew up in the New Albany area and graduated from NAHS, so I am thrilled to return to my alma mater and this wonderful community. After high school, I attended Ohio Wesleyan University where I earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in Spanish in 2016.

My love for learning Spanish started in middle school, and thanks to a high school history trip, I instantly caught the travel bug. During college, I studied abroad in Salamanca, Spain for a semester and also spent a few weeks in Puerto Rico volunteering for the Museo de las Américas. After many experiences with traveling and tutoring, I knew I wanted to teach. It is my passion to teach students about the incredible insights, relationships, and opportunities that learning a language can bring, in addition to simply learning the language. I love watching students grow in their understanding of Spanish while also making connections with other cultures and having fun!

In my free time, I love spending time with family, friends, and my Miniature Schnauzer, Reiley. I played tennis at NA and OWU, and still love to play whenever I can! My other hobbies include reading, watching movies, attending concerts, cheering on the Steelers, baking, and of course traveling. I am always finding new and exciting places to visit!

I am greatly looking forward to this year and all the excitement it will bring! I cannot wait to get to know my students and watch them grow during our time together. Feel free to contact me with any questions!
