Degrees and Certifications:
I am so excited to begin a new chapter in my teaching career at New Albany High School. This year will mark the the beginning of 22 years of teaching high school science. I graduated Summa Cum Laude and earned a Bachelor’s Degree in Chemistry from Baldwin-Wallace University in 1995 and have since earned two Masters; one in Chemistry and the other Physics Education in 2013 and 2105. I have attended AP Chemistry summer institutes and also taught college credit plus chemistry and physics for four years prior to this school year.
I became passionate about teaching science after taking chemistry in high school. My high school teacher sparked a love of the subject and I had the desire to teach others to have the same understanding of science. I look forward to each new year with all the possibilities to inspire and ignite understanding and enjoyment in learning science. I am so excited to be teaching both chemistry and physical science this school year!
When I am not teaching or doing school-related activities, I enjoy spending time with my family. My husband, Erik and I have three very active children; Shelby will be a freshman in college, Olivia a high school sophomore, and Evan will be in eighth grade. We also have four dogs and we enjoy spending time doing anything outside together that we can as a family. I also enjoy exercising, reading, and playing flute. I look forward to an amazing school year teaching your children!
