Degrees and Certifications:

Mrs. Gonda

This fall marks for me twenty-two years in the field of education. I joined our district in 2001 as a middle school English teacher. During my tenure at New Albany Middle School, I served as English Department Chair, 8th grade Team Leader, and I coached the Girls’ Tennis Team. Over the last seven years, I have been as a member of the NAMS administrative team. When I saw the posting for the NAHS English position, I knew it was time to follow my heart back to the classroom. I miss talking about great literature with great kids; I think I might even miss grading their papers!

As a graduate of Denison University with a Bachelor’s Degree in Mass Communication and English (with both a writing and literature concentrations), I am able to share my love of words with another generation of thinkers. To that, I am able to add my Educational Leadership Master’s Degree from Ashland University and my administrative experience to hone my pedagogy with new perspective in my classroom.

Born in Pittsburgh during the reign of the ""Steel Curtain,"" I am a diehard Steelers fan. We moved to Tampa, Florida, when I was almost eleven, and my parents still live there today, so I know an excellent way to escape the mundane Ohio winters. I have lived in New Albany for the past twenty years, and I am quite proud of our community. I enjoy being at home talking with my husband, Robb, playing Legos with my first grader, Timothy, cooking, and listening to Caroline, my 8th grader, practice her latest piece of music. Other favorites of mine include classic literature, music, anything outside, and really terrible reality TV.

I look forward so very much to getting to know your family and partnering together for our student’s successes.

Go Eagles!
