Degrees and Certifications:
Hello! I am very excited to start another great school year filled with fun and learning. I have been teaching first grade for the past seventeen years and truly enjoy teaching this age group. The enthusiasm they have for learning is contagious and I am always amazed by how much they grow both academically and socially. I love to see the world through the eyes of first graders!
A little about me…
I am married to wonderful man and we have two energetic boys, Owen and Alex. Owen is in fifth grade and Alex is in seventh grade. I love to read, bake, and spend time outdoors hiking and camping. I have a true passion for traveling and was thrilled to spend time this summer exploring all three national parks in Washington state with my family.
I graduated from the Ohio State University with a degree in Communications. After working in the corporate world for two years, I felt a calling to enter the field of education. I received my teaching license from Capital University and my master’s degree from Ashland University in Literacy. I taught for eight years in the Olentangy School district and then my husband’s job took us to Arkansas, where I taught first grade for one year. Upon returning to Ohio I begin teaching at New Albany, having just completed my eighth year here.
The New Albany Primary School is a special place to work and I look forward to the new adventures we will have in first grade!
