Welcome to First Grade! My name is Mrs. Brooke McAndrew and I have been teaching in New Albany since 2009. I spent five years in Second Grade (the first few I was Miss Bedevelsky) and now I am excited to say that this is my fifth year in First Grade. I am very passionate about teaching and getting to know each student while they learn and grow. Originally from northeast Ohio, I grew-up in Brunswick near Cleveland.
My undergraduate degree is in Early Childhood Education with a Reading Endorsement from Baldwin Wallace College (now it is Baldwin Wallace University.) I also have a Masters in Literacy. I am happy to now live in the Columbus area with my husband, who is also a teacher. He teaches Eighth Grade American History. My husband and I love to travel. We try to spend a little time in Ireland each summer to see family and explore. I also love to read, be outside, workout, and play with my adorable kitty, LC. I am looking forward to another fantastic school year in New Albany!
