Degrees and Certifications:

Ms. Johnson

Welcome to first grade! I am very excited about this year. I have many exciting things to share with you and can’t wait for us to learn and grow together. Let me tell you a little bit about myself.
This is my sixteenth-year teaching in New Albany. I previously taught second grade for nine years and I am thrilled to be teaching first grade again for the seventh year. I attended The Ohio State University where I majored in Family Relations and Human Development. I went on to receive my Master of Education degree and Reading Endorsement from there as well. Throughout my career, I have continued to take coursework to stay up to date on the best practices in education.
My husband and I have two daughters who attend New Albany Schools. Faith is a junior and Marissa is a sophomore. I enjoyed my summer by watching MANY softball and lacrosse games, visiting with family from out of town, and spending time with friends. My hobbies include traveling, reading, and cooking.
The most exciting part of teaching first grade is watching the tremendous amount of growth that each student makes during the year. I look forward to taking this journey with you!
