Degrees and Certifications:
I believe school should be a place where children love to be and is a place where a child’s love of school is nurtured with learning each and every day. My goal is to create a warm, caring, classroom community where children feel comfortable asking questions, making mistakes, and sharing their experiences with others. I have high expectations for all students and want all students to reach their maximum potential. With that said, I also believe the social development of first graders is just as important as their academic development. During the first month of school much of our focus will be on getting to know one another, learning classroom expectations, and adjusting to being at school.
This will be my 16th year of teaching 1st Grade. I graduated from The Ohio State University with a Bachelor’s degree in Elementary Education. I was fortunate to begin my career with New Albany Schools. I am grateful to be a part of such an amazing school district and team! After beginning teaching I then pursued a Master’s Degree in Literacy from Ashland University.
I live in New Albany with my husband, Chad, 12 year old son, Caden and 10 year old daughter Cali. We spent the summer visiting Ocean City, swimming at the pool, camping in a tent, and enjoying walks. I like, hiking, listening to music, exploring nature, and all kinds of sports.
I am eager to work with a new group of children and feel very fortunate to be in a career I love!
