“What do you want to be when you grow up?” For as early as I can remember, my answer was always a teacher. Teaching is my passion, and I wake up with a smile every morning excited to do what I love!
The professional journey I have embarked upon was inspired by my love of children. I earned a Bachelor’s Degree in Early Childhood and Special Education in 2013 from Indiana University of Pennsylvania and a Master of Education in Reading from Edinboro University of Pennsylvania in 2016. Since graduation, I have continued to take relevant classes because there is always something more to learn.
I spent my first year as a teacher in an elementary building working with students in kindergarten through grade five. I then worked for three school years in Sharon, Pennsylvania as a special education teacher to fourth and sixth grade learners. During my time at Sharon, I was privileged to also adopt the role of Assistant Coach to two First Lego League robotics teams. Last school year, I joined the New Albany team and fell in love with kindergarten!
I am filled with joy to be extended this opportunity to partner with you as families and continue to inspire young students to join me on the lifelong journey of learning! I still look back fondly on my kindergarten year as it is where my appetite for learning was cultivated. I cannot wait to help your kindergarteners begin a learning adventure that they will never forget either!
When I am not doing schoolwork, I can be found spending time with my family and friends. I enjoy visiting my parents, two younger brothers, and grandma back in my hometown of Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. Baking, reading, and cheering on my favorite team, the Pittsburgh Penguins, are a few of my favorite activities.
