My love for teaching children how to read began when I helped my younger siblings understand letters and sounds. That passion to help beginning readers ignited when I saw their excitement, and that same passion still grows today. I am honored to help children discover the joy of reading every day.
I attended Ashland University for my undergraduate work in Elementary Education, grades 1-8, and also for my Reading Certification. My teaching career began in Mansfield City Schools as a first grade teacher in 1999 before coming to New Albany Schools in 2001. Here in New Albany I also was a first grade classroom teacher. I received my Masters in Literacy through Ashland University in 2003. In 2010, I began my current position of Reading Specialist. I have continued my education through classes at The Ohio State University, Brandman, Lindenwood, and Ashland University.
Being a wife and mother of two children are my greatest joy. My other passions include spending time in nature, running, and relaxing with a good book.
If I am privileged to work with your child, I look forward to teaming with you to make your child's reading journey a positive, successful experience.
