Degrees and Certifications:
My name is Margaret Durkop and I am a Reading Intervention Specialist at the Primary School. I am a former Bobcat! I attended Ohio University for my undergraduate work in Elementary Education, grades PS-3. I received my Masters in Literacy though Ashland University. I have continued my education through classes at Ashland University, Brandman, and Lindenwood. My teaching career began in New Albany. I taught First Grade for ten years. This is my third year as a Reading Intervention Specialist. I am passionate about making a difference for a much broader spectrum of students.
I am an avid reader. I love nothing more than getting lost in a good book. My hope as a reading teacher is not only to strengthen early literacy skills, but to help students build their reading confidence and discover how books can open their eyes and mind to a whole new world of opportunity and discovery. I am a wife and a mother of two small children. Spending quality time with my family is by far my favorite way to pass the time. I also enjoy running, being outdoors, gardening, and OSU football. I am truly looking forward to working with students and families this year in order to help students reach their full potential. This is going to be an incredible school year!
