Diana Smith is an alumna from Muskingum College in New Concord, OH. Upon graduation, she began her teaching career at Dover City Schools. She started her teaching career as a K-5 intervention specialist. During that time, she earned her Master's Degree in administration from Ashland University. She also served as the head varsity basketball coach and varsity assistant track coach.
After being in Dover for ten years, she moved to New Albany. Diana's role first started in our district as an elementary intervention specialist and the head varsity basketball coach. Then she moved into various roles such as as a second grade classroom teacher, elementary 2-5 assistant principal, and her current role as a primary reading specialist. During the 2021-2022 school year, Diana completed her Orton Gillingham practicum in order to obtain her Associate Level I certification.
Diana has loved every role she's been in and each role has helped her grow professionally and see things through a variety of lenses. She's very passionate about her job and feels fortunate to have the opportunity to help her students reach their fullest potential every day.
