Degrees and Certifications:
Hello! I’m Mrs. Quillin, and I want to welcome all of our students back to school! It is my 10th year at New Albany, and I will be teaching English learners in grades 4-6. I can’t wait for you to see our exciting new learning space in room 171 of Wing “E!” Did you know that we have at least 22 languages represented at the New Albany Intermediate Building to start our year?
Teaching English and learning about cultures from around the world is my passion! Each child brings their own experiences and perspectives that enrich us all. I want every student to feel welcome, supported, safe, and excited to be at school each day! Students in the ELL program will develop their skills in reading, writing, listening, and speaking, so that they can increase their academic success in all content areas. Services are designed around the specific needs of each student.
Now, a little more about me… I began my career in Westerville City Schools, and I have also taught adult learners of English through a program at Columbus Refugee and Immigration Services. I earned my Master’s Degree in TESOL (Teachers of English to Speakers of Other Languages) from Ohio Dominican University.
On a personal note, I am married to my husband, Mac, and live in the New Albany Community. My 2 sons, Trey and Alex, are New Albany graduates and my daughter, Katie, is a sophomore at the high school. I enjoy sports, traveling, reading, and time with friends and family.
We are going to have a great year together!
