Degrees and Certifications:
Hello! My name is Julie Adams, and I have wanted to be a teacher for as long as I can remember. It has been a passion of mine for decades and I am thrilled to be in my current 5th grade position! I love ALL subjects, but math and science have always been my favorites. Teaching how fun and amazing learning can be is my goal every single day in our classroom.
I earned my Bachelor’s Degree in Human Development and Family Science with a concentration in Child Development from THE Ohio State University (Go Bucks!) in 2001,and went on to earn my Master’s in Education in 2002, also from OSU. I have always loved learning new ways to engage my students and help them become problem solvers and lifetime learners.
I started my teaching career here in New Albany in 2002 as a 4th grade teacher. I continued teacher 4th grade for 11 years and my 12th year I was a 4th and 5th grade math intervention teacher. For the past 3 years, I have been home with my small children, and am so thrilled to be back half days in 5th grade math this year! I’ve missed everyone!
Outside of teaching, I enjoy spending my time at home with my family. My husband is a high school teacher and varsity football coach at Big Walnut Local Schools. We have an 8 year old daughter, 6 year old daughter, and a 3 year old son who keep us on our toes too! So excited for an amazing new school year!
