A Note From Superintendent Sawyers

  • Welcome to the 2019-2020 school year.

The beginning of the school year is truly an exciting time for our students, families, and staff as preparations are made for new adventures, renewed partnerships, and exciting discoveries and opportunities.  The many activities planned within our district are designed to engage our students and provide them with high quality opportunities to enrich their lives and learn. In addition to our pursuit of academic excellence, our efforts to empower students to “Own Their R(esponse)” continues as we apply The R Factor into our daily culture.

Partnerships between our schools, families, and community members are essential to the success of our students.  Positive family-school relationships can socialize and support students as learners throughout their academic careers.  Many opportunities for involvement are available – from assisting in classrooms to memberships in parent organizations to attendance at one of our outstanding student performances or contests on and off the field or court.  We sincerely hope that you will join us in our students’ learning process.

I invite you to experience first-hand what makes the New Albany-Plain Local School District a unique and exciting learning place that supports our students in their quest to achieve at high levels. Your presence is anticipated and always welcome.  Please be sure to check calendar updates provided by every school as new events may be added.

Together, we will create a culture of accountability that achieves the best academic and developmental outcomes for each and every student. The staff and I are committed to assisting all of our students and their families.  I hope that your children find relevance and challenges in academics and in the many activities in which they are engaged this year. Have a wonderful school year!

    Sincerely,

    Michael L. Sawyers
