This year is very special! I will be teaching your children 6th grade ELA! I could not be more excited and passionate about our year ahead! I can’t wait to inspire and teach your children! Our adventure in reading and writing is going to be one to remember! It’s my goal to see each child reach his or her fullest potential.
For the past 25 years, I have been busy doing what I love... teaching! I earned a Bachelor’s Degree in Elementary Education from Bowling Green State University in 1998 and a Masters in Education from The Ohio State University in 2003. I also hold a Master Teacher designation. One way that I reach professionally, beyond the classroom, is through my role of District Resident Educator Coordinator. Working with new teachers is a professional passion of mine.
My teaching background includes teaching 3rd grade for 18 years and now 6th grade ELA with a fantastic team of teachers! It has been an amazing journey, each year unique and exciting! I have loved working with both third and sixth grade students and find that I have the special ability to reach each and every one!
When I am not teaching or doing school-related activities, I enjoy spending time with my family. I have two very active, funny and bright boys who keep me smiling! Zachary is now a Sophomore at Otterbein University, majoring in nursing, and Joshua is a senior here at New Albany! We spend a lot of time playing tennis, golf, and kayaking! We LOVE being outdoors and you can find us all over town working through a summer "to do" list in June and July! We love our summers together!
