Ms. Hannahs

Each day in Preschool begins with new challenges and ends with new successes. Every child is working hard on something different, but they all come together to help each other find their own strengths and push each other to learn something new. That is what I love about early childhood! The opportunity to witness the foundation to a lifelong love of learning is not something that everyone gets to experience. I have been fortunate enough to see this for the past 17 years, with 14 of those years being in New Albany!

I earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Early Childhood Education from Ohio University in 2007. I began my career in North Carolina, teaching Kindergarten in Hoke County. Family brought me back to Ohio, where I unexpectedly found myself teaching in a Preschool special needs classroom. I then began the journey to my Master of Arts degree in Early Childhood Intervention and finished at Muskingum University with my graduate degree in 2010. With two years of Preschool already under my belt, I landed a job in Columbus just two months after graduating, teaching a Preschool special needs class through the Educational Service Center of Central Ohio, with a placement in New Albany. The rest is history!

When I'm not teaching, I love spending time with my family and friends. My husband Derek and I have been married for 15 years and enjoy many outdoor activities, such as whitewater rafting, kayaking, skydiving and spending time at the beach! We have a spunky, hilarious, bright and beautiful 12 year old daughter, Delilah, who tags along on most adventures. We also have a 9 year old St. Bernard/Great Dane mix named Hank, a 1 year old Jack Russel named Daphne and two cats named Fluffy and Winter. Though you never know where life will take you, I sure am enjoying the ride!
