Degrees and Certifications:
My name is Sara Homko and I am back in preschool -- this time as a teacher! I graduated from Otterbein University in 2016 with a major in Early Childhood Education, Special Education, and a minor in Psychology. I am dual-licensed in Early Childhood Education (preK-3) and Intervention (preK-3). Right out of college, I moved out of my hometown of Medina to the Cincinnati area. I was a Preschool Intervention Specialist for Hamilton City Schools for a year before I decided to move closer to family and friends. Fast-forward to now and this will be my third year teaching at New Albany-Plain Local Schools as a Preschool Teacher!
Ever since I was in first grade, I wanted to be a teacher. Although I love teaching, I don’t live at school - believe it or not! In my free time, I enjoy spending time with my friends and family. Both of my parents are Deaf, so I am fluent in American Sign Language. Along with my parents, I have an older brother and younger sister. The non-human members of my family include: Marco Polo (cat), Buddy (bird), and Pina (hedgehog). My hobbies include jigsaw puzzles -- my current record is 5000 pieces -- traveling to all 50 states before I turn 50, and sleeping in :)
