Degrees and Certifications:
My name is Sara Homko and I am back in preschool - this time as a teacher! I graduated from Otterbein University in 2016 with a major in Early Childhood Education, Special Education, and a minor in Psychology. I am dual-licensed in Early Childhood Education (preK-3) and Intervention (preK-3). Right out of college, I moved out of my hometown (Medina, Ohio) to the Cincinnati area. I was a Preschool Intervention Specialist for Hamilton City Schools for a year before I decided to move closer to family and friends. Although it has been crazy moving again this summer, I already feel at home in New Albany!
Ever since I was in first grade, I wanted to be a teacher. Although I love teaching, I don’t live at school... In my free time, I enjoy spending time with my friends and family. Both of my parents are deaf, so I am fluent in American Sign Language. Along with my parents, I have an older brother, younger sister, and a cat named Marco Polo. I also have a Kakariki (type of bird) named Buddy, that lives with me. My other hobbies include jigsaw puzzles (my current record is 5000 pieces), traveling to all 50 states before I turn 50, and sleeping in :)
