We are unable to provide supervision for kindergarten children prior to 8:40 a.m. (for morning kindergarten) or 11:55 a.m. (for afternoon kindergarten) arrival times. We are unable to provide supervision for preschool children prior to 8:40 a.m. or after 11:30 a.m. (for morning preschool) or prior to 12:30 p.m. or after 3:20 p.m. (for afternoon preschool)
For reasons of safety and liability, no children should arrive at school prior to the designated times unless chaperoned by a parent.
The district appreciates that our families have varying needs for morning childcare or early drop-off options. In addition to the opening of the Eagles Nest for tuition based before and after school childcare next fall, the district will continue to host Breakfast Club for K-5 students.
The K-3 Breakfast Club is located at the Primary School to increase program efficiency and parent drop-off convenience. Breakfast Club will be available on school days for 1 hour or less. Doors will open at 8:00 a.m. daily for student drop-off. ELC students will be shuttled from the Primary School to the ELC along with Eagle’s Nest students.
For $1.50 per day, Breakfast Club provides students with a hot breakfast and large group supervision until the school day begins. Breakfast Club students are encouraged to bring a book or other reading materials with them to remain occupied until dismissed for school. Pre-registration for Breakfast Club is not required and may be used at-will daily to accommodate the changing needs of families.
Before and after school childcare services are also available through The Eagles Nest Child Care Program, including a nutritious snack and homework assistance every day. Children are transported to and from their school via New Albany-Plain Local buses for this program.
In addition, students should not be withdrawn from class prior to the regular dismissal times unless illness or an emergency require it. Please plan ahead in scheduling appointments and other commitments for after the close of the school day. Regular attendance is critical for student learning and achievement!
