Welcome to 1st grade! My name is Becky Wanless-Bobo (students can call me Mrs. B) and I've been a teacher at NAPLS since 2005. During my time at NAPLS I have taught both 1st and 2nd grade.
I attended The College of Wooster and majored in Communication Sciences and Disorders and Elementary Education. I went in to earn two Master's Degrees from The Ohio State University- Go Bucks! In addition to teaching, I am also an educational coach and consultant for Responsive Classroom and one of the authors of the book, "Empowering Educators: A Comprehensive Guide to Teaching Grades K, 1, 2."
My husband TeJae and I live near downtown Columbus with our son Trey and our two dogs, Kobe (a schnoodle) and Clementine (a miniature schnauzer). We are often found walking our dogs near the Scioto River, wandering around German Village with coffees in hand or perusing through The North Market. Some of my passions include art (creating and admiring), interior design, reading, dogs, coffee, and education.
Throughout this school year your child will encounter new experiences, conquer challenges, learn new things, and make lasting friendships. One thing that helps make this possible is our teacher-family partnership. As we work through this year together I encourage you contact me via email at wanless.1@napls.us. I'm looking forward to meeting you and your family and to a wonderful year in 1st grade!
