Hello, families! I could not be more excited for a new school year, a new group of excited students to welcome, and new adventures in learning! In 2010, I earned a Bachelor's Degree of Science in Early Childhood and Special Education from Heidelberg University. In 2013, I earned a Master's Degree in Curriculum & Instruction from Bowling Green State University. In 2020, I earned The Presidential Award for Excellence in Mathematics & Science Teaching, and had the honor of going to D.C. to receive my award this spring.
You may be wondering "who is this new teacher?!" However, I have actually been a teacher in the district since 2015, and spent two years (2020-2022) on special assignment as a Professional Development Coordinator, with The Teaching & Learning Collaborative (TLC). During my time with TLC, I developed and facilitated meaningful learning opportunities for teachers across Ohio, in the areas of math, science, and computer science. I am so excited to bring what I have learned to New Albany Middle School.
Last year I was at the primary school, teaching 2nd grade. Prior to my special assignment, I was a 3rd grade teacher in the district. As a primary teacher I integrated rigorous computer science experiences into math and science for students.
When I am not teaching, I love watching sports, especially The Ohio State Buckeyes! In the fall, my Saturdays are spent at The Ohio Stadium or in front of the T.V. cheering on my favorite team. You can also catch me at Eagle Stadium on Friday nights, as my boyfriend coaches the defensive line. Go Eagles!!
