Degrees and Certifications:

Mrs. Cameron

Welcome to another year of learning. Here's a little ditty about me, Mrs. Tirza Cameron. I earned a Bachelor Degree in Elementary Education from the University of South Dakota in 1990 and a Master Degree in The Art of Teaching from Marygrove College in 2006. I am currently taking many courses to add additional science information to my teaching. This is my 28th year teaching overall and my 22nd year with New Albany schools. I have focused my last five years of instruction in 6th grade Science. Past experiences: teaching 6th/7th grade mathematics (4 years), 5th grade (17 years) and 4th grade (2years).

I have been married to my husband, Don, for over 32 years, with three children (two girls and a boy), who have all graduated from New Albany Schools and The Ohio State University. Stephanie ('08) and Taylor ('11), while Donnie ('17) has been subbing in New Albany hoping to teach Elementary Education soon. I can’t forget to mention my 11 year-old Cairn Terrier, Tucker and 5 year old Victorian Bulldog, Myles.

When I am not teaching: I enjoy spending time with my family, gardening, walking, weight lifting, movies, candy crush and jigsaw puzzles. I am a New Albany resident, so I may be seen frequently at the library, local restaurants, grocery stores or other New Albany sponsored events.

I am so happy/lucky to be a person that can say, “I absolutely love my career... Teaching!” It can be very emotional at times, but so rewarding to work with a new batch of students each year; watching your child grow, learn, and mature into an adolescent. Starting a new year is quite exciting; I look forward to this year being a great adventure in your child's learning.
