Degrees and Certifications:

Mrs. Lichtman

I am originally from Fairborn, Ohio.  I graduated from Wittenberg University in Springfield, OH, and began my teaching career in Shaker Heights, OH, K-6 general music and choir.  I began teaching choir in New Albany Middle School and High School in 2006.

Inspired by the high caliber of the music staff and incredible strength of the music program in New Albany, I worked to earn my Master’s in Music with a Kodaly emphasis from Capital University, completing it in 2008.

I taught music at the K-1 Elementary building (now the Early Learning Center) until 2017.

I am thrilled to see some of my former students now that I teach 4th and 5th grade general music at the New Albany Intermediate School (NAIS), and co-direct the 5th grade choir.

I am currently serving the music teachers of Central Ohio as President of the Tri-City Kodaly Educators (TRIKE) Organization.  TRIKE sponsors continuing music education for professional music educators throughout the year.

I am also a member of the Central Ohio Association of American Orff Schulwerk.  I am currently working towards certification in the field of Eurythmics, through the American Dalcroze Association.

My husband and I live in Gahanna, and have two grown sons.
