Degrees and Certifications:

Mrs. Lichtman

I am originally from Fairborn, Ohio.  I graduated from Wittenberg University in Springfield, OH, and began my teaching career in Shaker Heights, OH, with K-6 general music and choir.  I began teaching choir in New Albany at the Middle School and High School in 2006.

I taught music at the K-1 Elementary building (now the Early Learning Center) until 2017 and currently teach 4th and 5th grade general music and 5th grade choir, at the New Albany Intermediate School (NAIS).

Inspired by the high caliber of the music staff and incredible strength of the music program in New Albany, I worked to earn my Master’s in Music with a Kodaly emphasis from Capital University, completing it in 2008.

My professional organization memberships include:
The Tri-City Kodaly Educators (TRIKE) Organization, which sponsors continuing music education for professional music educators throughout the year.

The Central Ohio Association of American Orff Schulwerk

The American Dalcroze Association, through which I completed my certification in Dalcroze Eurhythmics in 2020.

My husband and I live in Gahanna, and have two grown sons.
