Degrees and Certifications:

Mrs. Elmer

My name is Lola Elmer and I teach 3rd grade at New Albany Primary School. This will be my 26th year in education and begins my 22nd year with New Albany Schools. Previously I taught 4th grade at Cassingham Elementary in Bexley, and 6th and 7th form math at Columbus School for Girls.

I earned a Bachelor’s Degree in Education from Ohio University in 1991 and a Master's Degree from Ashland University in 2003. I hold National Board Certification and Master Teacher Designation. I was the director of our Safety Town program for seven years and am currently serving a two-year term as Elementary Vice-President of the Central Ohio Council of Teachers of Mathematics (COCTM). I also work on our school’s math committee, tutor students after school and during the summer, and have taught numerous IMPACT classes. I LOVE what I do!! It has been an incredible journey!

Outside of the classroom, I enjoy spending time with my amazing sons. Remington is 21 and Spencer is 18. Both graduated from New Albany High School and Spencer will attend Kent State University in the fall. We had a wonderful time on a cruise during the second week of summer. There were 19 people from our family on board! I am very excited about our year ahead and I look forward to working with families to inspire and teach your children! It is my goal to help each child grow as a learner and reach his fullest potential!
