Hi! My name is Amy Cook. I am looking forward to teaching your child music this year. This is my 28th year of teaching and 20th in New Albany. That is so hard for me to believe!
I am originally from Bellville, OH and graduated from Clear Fork High School. I received my undergrad degree at Capital University and my Masters at The Ohio State University. I spent the first eight years of my career at Centerburg Schools, where I taught K-6 general music, 8th grade general music and high school choir. I have also coached freshman volleyball and Middle School. JV and Varsity softball. I am currently teaching grades 1-3 and the 5th Grade Choir.
My husband Steve and I have two children that attend New Albany. Logan is a senior this year and plays football for the Varsity football team. Hope is a freshman and plays volleyball for the freshman team and dances at BBDC. We have spent our free time over the last year, running from ball games to dance competitions. We also took some time to visit a few colleges. I am not ready for that. My hobbies are reading, gardening and scrapbooking. I love children! I love to watch their faces when they make beautiful music or play a simple game. I am excited to be teaching 1st grade again and can’t wait to get to know all of my students.
