¡Hola!
My name is Sara Anderson and I get the opportunity to teach Spanish 1, Honors Spanish IV, and AP Spanish V at New Albany high school this year.
One of my goals is to help my students use Spanish in their daily lives. Together, we have fun with the language, listening to and exploring all of its beautiful nuances in a contextual, immersion-based setting. I view myself as a guide or facilitator--- one who creates an environment for her students to play with and delve into the Spanish language and the unique culture that it provides.
This is my 13th year here at New Albany Plain-Local Schools District. I spent 3 years at the middle school before making the transition to the high school. Before that, I spent 6 years teaching levels 1-4 at Bishop Hartley high school, where I, too, attended as a student.
Previously, I studied Spanish and Education at Wittenberg University in Springfield, Ohio. I participated in 2 study abroad programs there: one in Mexico and the other in Spain. In my mid-twenties, I received my masters in Spanish at Middlebury College in Vermont. Afterwards, I decided to study Italian both at Columbus State Community College and Italy. I am also certified to teach ELL because of Capital University's wonderful program.
I currently live in a townhouse with my 2 funny basset hounds Byron and Alice. We spend our free time reading, biking, and baking. They provide much entertainment and joy for me.
Please do not hesitate to contact me for anything. I enjoy parent speakers, taking students on day trips, and any other interesting facts you would like to share.
Thank you for allowing me to teach your child!
Much peace,
Sara Reichley and bassets Byron & Alice
