Degrees and Certifications:
Welcome to my page! This school year is my ninth year working at New Albany Plain Local Schools. My first year in the district, I was an ELL (English Language Learner) Aide at the high school and the, at the time, grades 2-5 Elementary School. The next year, I became the High School ELL teacher. Through my ELL experiences in the district, I have worked in every building in the district and every grade except third! For a couple of years, I taught ELL as well as some high school CP social studies classes. Starting in 2019, I began teaching social studies full time. My social studies teaching experience at the high school includes having taught ELL Humanities, ELL World History, CP American History, CP World History, and 9th grade Humanities. I also have experience facilitating classes in the subjects of World History, AP World History, and Sociology through being a teacher in the VLP last school year.
I was born and raised in Cleveland, Ohio, and in the time between growing up there and teaching in New Albany, I attended college to obtain my bachelor’s degree from Bowling Green State University where I majored in Integrated Social Studies Education (grades 7-12) and minored in History and Art. After graduating from Bowling Green, I lived in Findlay, Ohio, where I was a substitute teacher for four years and obtained certification in TESOL (Teaching English to Speakers of Other Languages) from Bluffton University during year four of my time as a sub. I enjoy hiking, going for walks, reading, yoga, art, writing, and photography.
I look forward to being your/your student(s)’s teacher this year! Please don't hesitate to reach out if you need anything.
