Degrees and Certifications:

Miss Langenderfer

The 2017-2018 school year will be my tenth year as a mathematics teacher at New Albany High School. I will be teaching Geometry Connections, Honors Geometry and Honors PreCalculus this year. Past courses which I have taught include: Algebra I, Algebra/Geometry Connections II, Geometry Connections, Honors Geometry, Algebra II and Honors PreCalculus. I was the Junior Class and Prom Advisor for seven years, and this upcoming year will be my fifth as the Miller House Dean. I have served on numerous committees from technology, school culture, scheduling, and House among others.

I am a proud graduate of The Ohio State University (GO BUCKS!) where I was in the Honors Program and received three degrees: a Bachelor of Science in Mathematics, a Bachelor of Science in Psychology with Honors in the Liberal Arts, and a Master of Education - Secondary Mathematics Grades 7-12. This summer, I obtained my Masters+40 which means that I have taken 40+ graduate semester hours beyond my Master's degree with the focus of my additional graduate courses surrounding the topics of mathematics, psychology, technology, school culture and educational practices. I am a forever learner and enjoy exploring new ways to better my craft and give back. Also, this summer, I attended and was a speaker at a national conference on school culture. Though I am extremely passionate about mathematics, I believe that teaching is so much more than academics, and I take this very seriously.

I was born and raised in Cincinnati where my family still resides. I enjoy spending my time with family and friends, traveling, seeing movies, reading, attending sporting events and just relaxing! I especially love the Buckeyes and college football. Additionally, you will definitely find me at various school events throughout the year to support students and fellow staff. I love attending music performances, viewing student masterpieces and cheering at a variety of sporting events. I am constantly blown away by the talent, camaraderie and sportsmanship displayed by our students.

It has always been my dream to pursue a career in the field of mathematics. My desire to become a high school math teacher was a goal since I was in high school myself. I feel beyond blessed to be living my dream! I love coming to work every day, and it is a privilege to have the opportunity to work with your children.
