I am the daughter (and granddaughter) of educators. From early on my parents instilled in me a love of learning and have opened my eyes to not only science, but humanities, social sciences, and the arts. To me, it is essential to explore these and other varieties of intellectual and creative outlets.
I have a passion for exploring our natural world. Before pursuing a career in education, I worked with Michigan Audubon, the U.S. Dept. of the Interior, the U.S. Forest Service, and The University of Toledo's Ritter Planetarium enjoying my time as a teacher, naturalist, guide, project lead, conservationist, and outdoor educator with children and adults of all ages, insects, plants, and animals across North America.
In addition to teaching science at New Albany High School, I coach volleyball at New Albany (NAVB), serve as Student Council Advisor, and a member of Forest Hill House. I am a graduate of Miami University, the University of Toledo, and Clemson University. I am originally from Northwest Ohio.
In order to stay balanced in work and play, I enjoy taking fine art classes at the Columbus Cultural Arts Center, traveling (especially out west), and spending time with loved ones.
I look forward to having you in class this year!
