Miss Macko

¡Hola! My name is Hannah Macko and I will be your child’s Spanish teacher this year. I am so
excited to have the opportunity to share my passion for the language and provide a learning environment that builds confidence and prepares students to travel, embrace cultural differences, and interact with Spanish-speakers around the world, as well as here in our own community.

Traveling and learning to speak a new language have opened my eyes to new perspectives and provided me with life-changing experiences and friendships around the world that I would have never had without being able to interact in another language. My goal is for students to engage in new cultural experiences, navigate a variety of conversations, and understand unique and incredible perspectives. We will work through real-world situations in the classroom so students are prepared to interact with Spanish-speakers beyond the walls of NAMS.

As for a bit of background information, I grew up in Worthington, Ohio and completed my studies (B.A. in Spanish and M.Ed in Foreign and Second Language Education) at The Ohio State University, where I was a student-athlete on the women’s rowing team and studied abroad in Toledo, Spain. I began my teaching career at NAHS in 2014, before moving to NAMS in 2016. I feel so lucky to be able to work with such an amazing group of students!

When I am not teaching, I love to travel (26 countries and counting!), explore new languages and cultures, hike, and spend time with my family and friends. I live in Dublin, OH with my wife, Kristin, and Great Pyrenees, Blu.

I am looking forward to a great school year! Go Eagles!
