¡Hola! My name is Hannah Macko and I will be teaching your child's Spanish class this year. I am so excited to have the opportunity to share my passion for Spanish with your child and to provide an environment that motivates each student to reach his or her full potential. My goal is for students is to dive deep into rich, cultural experiences, navigate a variety of conversations, and understand unusual and incredible perspectives. I believe that language acquisition is a journey and my students are adventurers! We will navigate through real-world situations in the classroom so students are prepared to interact with Spanish-speakers around the world, as well as here in our own community.
As for a little background information, I am from Worthington, Ohio and I graduated from Thomas Worthington High School. From the day I sat down in my first Spanish class in 7th grade, I knew that I wanted to be a teacher. I was a student-athlete on the women's rowing team at The Ohio State University and I studied abroad in Toledo, Spain. I graduated from Ohio State with a B.A. in Spanish and M.Ed. in Foreign and Second Language Education. I began teaching Spanish at New Albany High School in 2014, before moving to NAMS in 2016. I feel so lucky to be able to work with such an amazing group of students!
When I am not teaching, I love to travel, practice yoga, and explore new cultures and languages. I am so excited for the upcoming school year! Please feel free to contact me with any questions or concerns.
