Welcome to 7th grade math!

My name is Erin Jones and this is my 13th year teaching math. I taught high school algebra 1, geometry, algebra 2 and calculus during my first 11 years of teaching and came to New Albany Middle School in 2016. I absolutely love teaching 7th grade math and helping students build the foundations that they will need to be successful in future math courses and beyond. I earned my Bachelor of Science degree at Elmhurst College in Elmhurst, Illinois with a major in mathematics and a minor in Spanish.

The reason I became a math teacher is because math was a challenge for me in early middle school. I always liked it and was intrigued by the challenge but wished that I could understand it better. My 7th grade teacher, Mrs. Rock, helped me overcome some of these struggles with math and developed a lifelong learner eager to help others enjoy math, too! I am looking forward to starting a new school year and getting to know new families.

I was born in the suburbs of Chicago and relocated to the Columbus area with my husband in 2006. We have two boys and a French bulldog that make for non-stop entertainment at home. Colin is a 3rd grader and Cameron is in pre-school. As a family, we enjoy football, golf, tennis, swimming and traveling.
