Degrees and Certifications:
Welcome to the 2020-2021 school year!
It is a pleasure to introduce myself to you as your math teacher (or as your child’s math teacher) for this school year. My name is Jeeyoung Gebhart. I will be teaching Honors Geometry and Honors Algebra II this school year. This is my 14th year teaching and 8th year in New Albany schools. I have teaching experience in Algebra I, Honors Algebra I, Geometry, Honors Geometry, Algebra and Geometry Connections II, Algebra II, Honors Algebra II, Pre-Calculus, and College Algebra. Most of my teaching career was in high school and this is my fourth year in New Albany Middle School. I have been teaching Honors Algebra 1, Honors Geometry, and Honors Algebra 2 in New Albany Middle School.
I am originally from South Korea. My parents immigrated to the United States of America in 1999 with my two younger sisters and me. I am fluent in both English and Korean. I received a Bachelor’s of Science Degree in Mathematics from The Ohio State University in 2004, and a Master’s Degree in Integrated Mathematics Education from The Ohio State University in 2005.
I have been married 13 years to my loving husband, Bryan and we live in Gahanna with our two daughters, Rebecca and Jessica. Rebecca is 12 years old and Jessica is 10 years old. When I am not teaching, I love spending time with my family. Also, I enjoy singing and learning new things. I find great teachers in YouTube. Here is a few of things I learned by watching YouTube: how to make homemade breads, how to French braid, how to make balloon flowers and swords, etc. Recently, I have been doing exercise by following YouTube workout videos. I look forward to getting to know you and to taking a journey of challenging yet rewarding math learning experiences with you this year. Let’s make this year the best school year you have ever had!
