Degrees and Certifications:
What is something I have in common with my 8th grade students? Aside from a fantastic sense of humor, I also attended New Albany Middle School. After graduating from NAHS in 1987, I earned a Bachelor’s Degree in English Literature from Otterbein University and a Master’s of Curriculum Instruction from Ashland University, where I earned a Gifted Endorsement. I also hold a state Master Teacher Designation and am a District Resident Educator Coordinator.
This year is my 26th year at NAMS, and I have enjoyed teaching 6th - 9th grades, as well as Gifted Intervention. Throughout my time here, I have coached a variety of teams, from FLL to cheerleading. I am excited to coach 8th Grade Power of the Pen again. Hopefully, we will improve upon last year’s 2nd place at Regionals!
When I am not teaching, you can find me hanging out with my family on a ballfield or on a boat. Needless to say, my two sons (ages 20 & 11) keep me very busy. You have probably seen us at Bevelhymer Park or Eagles Pizza! As much as I love summer, I am happy for school to start. It is going to be a great year!
