Greetings! My name is Mrs. Moran. I am the Curriculum Coach and part of the Reading Intervention team at the ELC. I started at New Albany in 2012. I transitioned into my coaching and reading intervention role in 2021. Prior to that date, I could be found in a kindergarten half-day classroom!
I find each year is a new and exciting adventure. I began my journey in 2001. I graduated from The Ohio State University with a Bachelor’s Degree in Elementary Education. I earned this degree in three years in order to teach prior to entering into the Masters program at The Ohio State University. I was thrilled to teach kindergarten my first year and then return to Ohio State and earn my Masters Degree in 2003.
Since graduating, I went on to teach kindergarten through third grade. I hold a Master Teacher designation. I have also taken numerous leadership roles over the years such as team leader and mentor to new teachers. I have loved each of my years in teaching. It is an amazing feeling to know you have helped mold a young child’s future. I look at each day as an opportunity to reach a child and let them know just how special they are. I am honored to have the privilege to teach your child how to become an accomplished reader!
When I am not teaching, you will find I manage to stay very busy. I love spending time with my amazing family. My husband and I are the proud parents of three children. I love being outdoors with my family. My husband and I love fitness and often try to hike, lift weights, and run together. I also love yoga!. I adore travel and have visited 16 countries. I love gardening and finding healthy ways to feed my family. We are a military family, as my husband proudly serves in The US Army Reserves as a Staff Sergeant. Now you know a little more about ME! I can’t wait to meet each of you!
