Degrees and Certifications:
Ever since I was a kindergartner, I knew I wanted to be a teacher. I wanted to inspire kids just like my kindergarten teacher did for me. Here I am, many years later, doing what I love: Teaching kindergarten and creating a love of learning and excitement in students! I earned a Bachelor’s Degree in Early Childhood Education and Intervention from Capital University in December of 2008 and a Master of Education in Educational Leadership from Ashland University in August 2011. I am currently studying School Counseling at Capital University.
This will be my 12th year in education. After teaching in special education for 6 years, I taught 2nd grade for two years before transitioning to kindergarten. Each level that I have taught at has brought new experiences that have helped me grow into the teacher I am today. I believe that every student can grow, dream, and achieve. I am excited to partner with you to use their passions and strengths to help them succeed!
When I am not teaching, I am spending time with my family. My husband Joel and I have been married for 11 years and have 3 children. They are full of energy, keep us on our toes and help remind us that we all still need to be a kid at heart at times! Cecelia is in 3rd grade, Dean in 1st grade, and Wendell, is in preschool. We love to hike, have campfires, go to parks, play games, and read. We have 2 dogs, Bailee and Bowser.
