Degrees and Certifications:
Ever since I was a kindergartner, I knew I wanted to be a teacher. I wanted to inspire kids just like my kindergarten teacher did for me. Here I am, many years later, doing what I love: Teaching kindergarten and creating a love of learning and excitement in students! I earned a Bachelor’s Degree in Early Childhood Education and Intervention from Capital University in December of 2008 and a Master of Education in Educational Leadership from Ashland University in August 2011. I am currently studying School Counseling at Capital University.
This will be my tenth year in education! After teaching in special education for 6 years, I taught 2nd grade for two years before transitioning to kindergarten. Each level that I have taught at has brought new experiences that have helped me grow into the teacher I am today. I believe that every student can grow, dream, and achieve. I am excited to partner with you to use their passions and strengths to help them succeed!
When I am not teaching, I am spending time with my family. My husband Joel and I have been married for 9 years and have 3 children. They are full of energy, keep us on our toes and help remind us that we all still need to be a kid at heart at times! Cecelia is in first grade, Dean in preschool and Wendell, our 2 year old, will be hanging out with grandma. We love to hike, have campfires, go to parks, play games, and read!
