Degrees and Certifications:
Ever since I was a kindergartner, I knew I wanted to be a teacher. I wanted to inspire kids just like my kindergarten teacher did for me. Here I am, many years later, doing what I love. Teaching kindergarten and creating a love of learning and excitement in students! I earned a Bachelor’s Degree in Early Childhood Education and Intervention from Capital University in December of 2008 and a Master of Education in Educational Leadership from Ashland University in August 2011.
This will be my 13th year in education. After teaching in special education for 6 years (grades 2,3,5, &6) , I taught 2nd grade for two years and this will be my 5th year teaching kindergarten. To begin the 2020-2021 school year, I will be teaching kindergarten in our Virtual Learning Program. Each level that I have taught at has brought new experiences that have helped me grow into the teacher I am today. I believe that every student can grow, dream, and achieve. I am excited to partner with you to use their passions and strengths to help them succeed!
When I am not teaching, I am spending time with my family. My husband Joel and I have been married for 12 years and have 3 children. They are full of energy, keep us on our toes and help remind us that we all still need to be a kid at heart at times! Cecelia is in 4th grade, Dean in 2nd grade, and Wendell, is in kindergarten. We love to camp and this summer we bought a camper and have enjoyed making memories using it. We also love to hike, have campfires, go to parks, play games, and read. We have 2 dogs, Bailee and Bowser.
