New Albany-Plain Local Schools uses Blackboard Mass Notifications as our automated attendance call system. This system automatically calls parents to inform them that their child was reported absent at school by their teacher. These calls are designed to serve as a reminder to those that may have forgotten to call our attendance line to report an absent child. As in the past, please make sure that if your child is absent, you call our attendance line at 614-413-8100 to report that absence each day prior to the start of their school day.
Even if you have already called in your student’s absence or if your child arrives to school late, you will still receive a call from the automated system due to the attendance data download occurring at a set time each day. You may disregard the call if you have reported the absence on the attendance hotline at 614-413-8100.
Students that are leaving school early for appointments should follow our regular procedures of bringing a note to the office in the morning so that they can be given a pass to leave class prior to being signed out by a parent.
Please contact your student’s building secretary to update your phone and email address as needed. The system pulls contact information directly from PowerSchool. Please disregard an automated call that you might receive in error. If you would like to speak directly to our district attendance secretary, Mrs. Honaker, about any special circumstances or issues, she may be reached at 614-413-8100 between 7:30 AM and 4:00 PM on school days.
Thank you.
Teresa Honaker District Attendance Secretary New Albany-Plain Local Schools
