Hello! My name is Steve Spirk and I’m thrilled to start my first year at New Albany, my sixth year teaching overall. My loyalties are torn between both Penn State, where I obtained a B.S. in Chemistry, and Ohio State, where I obtained M.Ed. My student teaching was completed at Central Crossing High School and my first five years of teaching took place at Licking Heights High School. There, I taught Physical Science, Chemistry, Honors Chemistry, and AP Chemistry. With a foundational understanding of chemistry, we can better understand the world around us.
My favorite hobby is eating. Luckily, my second favorite hobby is cooking. The kitchen is my lab away from work. I test out new recipe, experiment with formulas, and put a personal spin on some classic dishes. Outside of the kitchen, I’m taking in the sunlight, spending time with family and friends.
