Hello families, my name is Andrea Porter, and I teach first grade at the Primary School. I am beyond excited to get the opportunity to work with your children and help foster their love for learning. Previously, I was an Educational Assistant at the Primary School and taught second grade in Wadsworth, Ohio.

I believe my role as an elementary teacher is to nurture and encourage the lifelong learning of my students. Through hands-on activities, implementing data driven instruction, classroom discussion, and creating a positive classroom community, I hope to help students think creatively and explore their natural curiosity.

Prior to teaching, I obtained a Bachelor’s of Science degree in Elementary Education from Indiana University where I was a member of the women's soccer team, Go Hoosiers! I also received my Master's degree in Instructional Technology from The University of Akron.

Personally, I love exploring new places, exercising, reading, and being in nature. When I am not working you can find me spending time with my husband and three children!
