Hi! My name is Claire Haselhuhn and I am thrilled to be a part of the New Albany Early Learning Center as a speech-language pathologist. I grew up in a suburb of Toledo, Ohio and attended The Ohio State University for both my Bachelor’s and Master’s degrees. Both my siblings currently live in the Columbus area as well, so our family can be found near the “Shoe” on most weekends in the fall!
I completed my first year as a speech-language pathologist at Casa Speech, a local private practice serving ages 18 months to 18 years. During the 2022-2023 school year, I served as a long-term substitute for the New Albany ELC, and I couldn't be more excited to return to the position permanently!
I love to teach communication through engagement, play, and everyday life. Some of my favorite speech sessions are those where the students don’t know they’re in therapy… we’re playing with bubbles, rocket balloons, plastic farm animals and having a lot of fun! I live for those “lightbulb” moments when a child learns the power of their own communication and can use it to engage and enjoy the company of others.
Outside of the classroom, my favorite way to spend free time is by walking outside or reading. My husband and I also love taking our dog to the park and trying new restaurants!
I’m am so thrilled to continue my journey as a New Albany Eagle!
