Hello families and welcome to second grade! My name is Colleen Meidenbauer and I am honored, eager, and excited to be joining the New Albany community! I am thrilled to be part of such a wonderful school district. This will be my third year teaching and my second year teaching second grade.
In May 2021, I graduated from the University of Dayton with a Bachelor's Degree in Early Childhood Education. After graduating, I returned home to Cleveland, OH. and have spent the last two years dedicated towards learning and growing as a preschool and second grade teacher.
My goal is to create a classroom that is nurturing, supportive, engaging, and fun. I firmly believe children learn best when they feel cared for and supported and I will offer this care, love, and support to each child. I encourage children to take risks, learn from mistakes, collaborate with peers, and support one another through the hardships and triumphs throughout the school year. I work towards fostering children's curiosity, highlighting their strengths, and appreciating each child for their unique qualities.
During the summer I enjoyed spending time with my family in Hilton Head, visited friends in Chicago, moved to German Village, and was a bridesmaid in my brother's wedding! Outside of school I enjoy cooking, going to yoga and for walks, exploring new restaurants, and spending time outdoors with my friends.
I am eagerly anticipating the beginning of the school year and cannot wait to establish relationships with my students, their families, as well as the faculty and staff of New Albany Primary School. Go Eagles!!
